Different doesn’t mean bad

Marysia Jaworska, FLEX 21’

In the 2020/2021 school year, I participated in the FLEX program, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I could not fly to the United States and study at an American school.

After all, my participation in the virtual FLEX program was the best I can imagine! I was able to get to know American culture and learn more about life in the USA.

I also met wonderful people who shared their lives with me as best as they could. Despite the distance separating us, we managed to establish great contact and build an amazing bond. I also took part in many events that brought me closer to American culture, such as Halloween, Prom, and Thanksgiving Day!

Thanks to many new opportunities, I was also able to share Polish culture, traditions, and even the language with the Americans! I managed to conduct a few workshops for young people and talk about Poland! These are the meetings that I will remember the most, and I believe that one day we will be able to recreate them, but stationary!

I also have great memories of meeting American Scouts, which allowed me to develop and share something that is a big part of my life, which is Scouting!

During the entire duration of the Program, I was able to make many friends and gain new, wonderful experiences!
